Dr. Madhura Niphadkar-Bandekar has a PhD in Ecology from the ATREE-Manipal Phd Program in Interdisciplinary Ecology. She has over 20 years of experience in using remote sensing techniques for mapping diverse ecological phenomena from fires in chaparral ecosystems to biodiversity in tropical forests at multiple scales. She uses satellite image mapping for addressing conservation issues, currently invasive plant species mapping in tropical forests and grasslands. She enjoys working collaboratively with ecologists, social scientists, practitioners, artists, and communities for outreach about the environment, and is truly in her element in the blissful and inspiring company of Nature.
Along with a few like-minded enthusiasts, she is striving to make a difference via awareness and action about social-environmental concerns through their non-profit organization Foundation for Environment Research and Conservation.
