Capturing the anguish at the desecration of a lovingly made self portrait, this image appears as an act of resolution: the hopeful candle offered in remembrance of a tarnished relationship. An altar to fragile rekindling of ties, a memento of an outgrown innocence.
Still, Life - At Home
Acrylic on Canvas. 51 x 51 cm
Alok’s sparse looking response to the prompt Home, drew him deep within his meditation, to seek a hybrid space, made up of elements of spaces inhabited at different moments in time. The eerie, still room, at once calming and reflective, appeared fully formed in his Dhyana.
